Kutch is rapidly
developing industrial district of the state of Gujarat. Different
types of industries have been setup in the various industrial
zones after earth quake.
With a view to meet the huge demand of technically qualified
persons, Industrial Training Institute, Bhuj has been setup. The
institute has its own modern building surrounded by the natural
environment with facilities of workshop, administrative wing,
store, library and hostel building and staff quarters.
The Previous Days of the Institute and Development
Industrial
Training Institute BHUJ has been established in 1994 at Bhuj, the
CAPITAL of KUTCH district. Institute was started with only 8
trades and 184 sanction seats.
Institute had been started in the space of very small building
allotted by P.W.D.& at G.I D.C. Due to shortage of building and
less industrial development in district, development of institute
was not possible.
EARTH QUAKE DAMAGES AND DEVELOPMENT:
In the year 2001, due to Earth Quake institute suffered
damages in building and also lost two sincere staff forever. The
mental situation of the Staff and trainees of institute was not
good but all staff and trainees decided to fight against that hard
situation and restarted the training within fifteen days after
Earth Quake and with effective efforts by regular follow up with
collector office, 7 acres land was received for the institute.
From earth quake relief fund of M.P.LAD RAJYASHABHA RS. 4 CRORES
was become sanctioned for construction of building and N.B.C.C.
agency was there for the construction. So, layout of institute
including electrical was planned at institute level and with the
permission of head quarter, the layout for workshop, staff quarter
and hostel building was submitted to the agency.
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND INSTITUTE DEVELOPMENT:
After Earth Quake, due to fast industrial development and
considering future demand of skilled manpower, it was necessary to
construct building with open scope for expansion and therefore, it
was decided to built workshop building for twenty trades.
From august 2004, Institute was shifted to existing building and
sanction seat increased to 396 from 184. |
